      <description>HADLEY, Mass. &#x2013; The New England Small College Athletic Conference announced its 2011 Spring All-Academic selections today, with 809 student-athletes receiving All-Academic recognition. To be honored, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore academic standing and be a varsity letter winner with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.35.  A transfer student must have completed one year of study at the institution</description>

      <description>HADLEY, Mass. &#x2013; Amherst junior catcher Mike Samela (Westport, Conn.) has been chosen by the conference coaches as the NESCAC Player of the Year. The first Lord Jeff to ever win the league&#x2019;s top honor, Samela helped his squad finish atop the West Division with a 10-2 record and reach the NESCAC Baseball Championship for the first time since 2008.</description>

It&#x2019;s the third time in a row that the senior Browne has collected the conference&#x2019;s top honor, a rare feat among all conference sports. The 2010 NCAA singles champion, Browne enters this year&#x2019;s NCAA Tournament action at 19-6 overall.</description>

Cantone adds her name to a list that includes eight former Jumbos, as the conference&#x2019;s top honor has now gone to a Tufts player in nine of the last 11 years. In addition to being named Player of the Year, Cantone also garnered All-NESCAC First Team honors.</description>

      <description>HADLEY, Mass. &#x2013; Senior attacker Rachel Romanowsky (Hampstead, N.H.) of Trinity has been chosen by the conference coaches as the 2011 NESCAC Player of the Year. The first Bantam player to ever win the league&#x2019;s top honor, Romanowsky led her undefeated Trinity squad to the program&#x2019;s first NESCAC title this past weekend, as she scored two goals and assisted on two others in a 7-1 win over Colby on Sunday for the 2011 crown.</description>

      <description>HADLEY, Mass. &#x2013; For the second consecutive spring, Tufts&#x2019; DJ Hessler (Monkton, Md.) has been chosen by the conference coaches as the NESCAC Player of the Year. The senior attacker has been a significant part of arguably the best period in program history for the Jumbos, as his squad won their first-ever NESCAC title along with the school&#x2019;s first NCAA crown in any sport last spring. Hessler will join his teammates in pursuing a second-straight league title this weekend at home.</description>

      <description>HADLEY, Mass. &#x2013; Following the completion of the NESCAC Men&#x2019;s and Women&#x2019;s Track and Field Championships this past Saturday at Wesleyan University, the conference has announced the 2011 All-NESCAC Team. The top three finishers in each event during the championship receive All-Conference recognition. Sophomore Jabulani Blyden (Baltimore, Md.) of Williams earned the Sabasteanski Award as the Most Outstanding Male Performer, while the Sabasteanski Award for the Most Outstanding Female Performer went to Tufts sophomore Kelly Allen (Norton, Mass.).</description>

      <description>HADLEY, Mass. &#x2013; Hamilton sophomore defenseman Joe Houk (Richboro, Pa.) has been chosen by the conference coaches as the NESCAC Player of the Year. Houk helped his team post an 11-4-4 conference record this season, as the Continentals finished atop the NESCAC standings for the first time ever. He becomes the second Hamilton skater to earn the conference&#x2019;s top honor, joining the ranks of former Continental great Gus Katsuras, a two-time winner in 2005 and 2006.</description>
