HADLEY, Mass. - Tufts sophomore first baseman Christy Tinker (Woodbridge, Conn.) has been selected by the conference coaches as the 2008 NESCAC Player of the Year. Tinker is part of a Jumbos squad that went 11-1 in the NESCAC East Division this season along with capturing the 2008 NESCAC Softball Championship, the second-straight NESCAC title for Tufts and fifth in program history. Tinker becomes the seventh player from Tufts to receive the leagues top honor in the last eight years.
HADLEY, Mass. - Middlebury junior midfielder Mike Stone (Boston, Mass.) has been named the 2008 NESCAC Player of the Year, as determined by the conference coaches. Stone has helped the Panthers record a 12-2 record this season along with an 11th-consecutive appearance in the NCAA Mens Lacrosse Tournament. He becomes the first Middlebury player to earn the conferences top award since Matt Dunn received the honor in 2002.
HADLEY, Mass. - Colby junior midfielder Kate Sheridan (Hingham, Mass.) has been named the 2008 NESCAC Player of the Year, as determined by the conference coaches. Sheridan helped the Mules win the 2008 NESCAC Womens Lacrosse Championship last weekend - the programs first NESCAC title - and earn a spot in the 2008 NCAA Womens Lacrosse Tournament. She is the first Colby player to receive the conferences top honor.
HADLEY, Mass. - Williams senior Dan Greenberg (Chapel Hill, N.C.) has been named the 2008 NESCAC Player of the Year, as determined by the conference coaches. Greenberg helped the Ephs earn a 7-1 conference record this season along with a 15-3 overall mark and a top seed in the 2008 NCAA Mens Tennis Tournament.
HADLEY, Mass. - Amherst sophomore Brittany Berckes (Secaucus, N.J.) has been selected by the conference coaches as the 2008 NESCAC Player of the Year. Berckes helped her team win the 2008 NESCAC Womens Tennis Championship last weekend, the fourth outright NESCAC title and fifth overall for the Lord Jeffs. She is the third Amherst player over the last four years to win the leagues top honor.
