Nick Bayley, Colby College

 

Colby College men’s hockey player Nick Bayley (Cambridge, Ontario) earned the 2004-05 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Men’s At-Large College Division First Team honor for the third straight year. He was the only Division II or III athlete in the men’s At-Large division to earn first-team honors in all three years of eligibility. Bayley, who graduated from Colby in May with a degree in biology, was the only ice hockey player on the first team and the lone NESCAC athlete on any of the three 15-man teams.

Bayley finished his career third in all-time scoring at Colby. He had 61 goals and 87 assists for 148 points in 99 career games. Bayley, a New England Small College Athletic Conference first-team selection after his sophomore season, was named to the second team the past two seasons.  He led the Mules in scoring each of his four seasons at Colby. Bayley was first on the team in goals scored (16) and points (35) in the 2004-05 season. Bayley helped Colby to a 62-28-10 record the last four years.

Bayley was named to the NESCAC Winter All-Academic team all three years of eligibility. He was named to the District I All-Academic Team for three straight years.
