Bernardo Samper ’05, who graduated from Trinity this spring with a degree in international studies and comparative development, came to Trinity four years ago from Bogotá Columbia and quickly became the elite men’s squash player in the nation.
Samper was not only top player at Trinity for the past four years, but was ranked in the top five in college squash over that time and won the intercollegiate national singles title in 2002 and 2003. He won a silver medal in the 2002 Pan American Games, earned First Team All-American honors four times at Trinity, and finished with a career record of 50 wins and just 10 losses.
Most impressively, Samper led the Bantams to four straight intercollegiate national team titles, serving as captain in his senior year. Trinity won every match it played during Samper’s career, for a record of 73-0.
