Joyia Chadwick, Williams College

 

Joyia Chadwick (Lawrence, KS) was a four-year letter winner and five-time All-American, as a standout both volleyball and track & field for the Ephs.  The four-time Academic All-NESCAC selection was also selected a Second Team All District Academic honoree twice whie compiling a 3.58 GPA as a math major.

Chadwick became the first Eph to earn All-America honors in volleyball, a feat she accomplished three consecutive years.  She is the Ephs' record holder in the heptathlon with 4,931 points, a total she accumulated in winning the NCAA Div. 3 title as a senior.  In setting the Eph record in the heptathlon at the 2005 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships she also set the Eph record in the javelin (125' 9").

Somehow Chadwick also found time to participate in the Williams Symphonic Wind Ensemble (4 years), Flute Ensemble (2005), Williams Christian Fellowship (4 years), serve as Co-leader of  the Williams Christina Fellowship Outreach Ministry, Women's Bible Study (2004) and Athlete's Bible Study (2005).
