David Shear, Bates College
|
David Shear graduated cum
laude with a B.A. degree in economics from Bates College in 2006,
and was a two-time member of the Fall NESCAC All-Academic team.
Shear was a co-captain for the Bates men's soccer team and earned
First Team All-NESCAC honors as a midfielder after a stellar senior
season. The Concord, Mass., native was perhaps the Bobcats' most
consistent performer and lead traffic director for the Bobcats'
offense. He scored five goals with one assist, putting him third on
the team in scoring. Shear also came through in the clutch for
Bates in its regular-season finale at Colby, scoring with eight
minutes remaining to cut the Mules' lead to 2-1, then adding a
spectacular goal in overtime to win the game.
After the season, Shear was selected to play in the New England
Intercollegiate Soccer League Senior All-Star Game in Worcester,
Mass.
