Lauren Sokol

Lauren Sokol was a four-year letter winner and a two-time All-American for the women's lacrosse team. Sokol earned first team All-America honors in 2010 after she helped lead Hamilton to the NCAA title game. She wrapped up her career with second team All-America honors in 2012 as she helped Hamilton advance to the semifinals of the NESCAC championship in the Continentals' first year in the conference in lacrosse.

She was named to the 2012 NESCAC All Cnference First Team and the 2012 NESCAC Spring All-Academic Team. The defender was selected to play in the 2012 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Division III North-South Senior All-Star Game. She was an IWLCA and ECAC all-region selection in 2010 and 2012. The Continentals amassed a record of 62-16, and appeared in the NCAA semifinals twice during Sokol's Hamilton career.

Sokol was honored by the Hamilton athletic department as its female winner of the 2012 Milton H. Jannone Award. The award is presented annually to a student-athlete who is recognized by her peers and coaches for her outstanding athleticism, leadership and academic accomplishment. The English major was the women's lacrosse team's recipient of Hamilton's 2012 SAAC scholar-athlete award for her dedication and loyalty to both academics and athletics. The award recipients maintain an outstanding cumulative grade point average and make a significant contribution to their team.

Sokol is from Colts Neck, N.J., and attended the Peddie School in Hightstown, N.J.
