Mia Martinez graduated from Middlebury College in the spring of 2012 with a double major in sociology/anthropology and psychology and a minor in Spanish. She was a four-year member of the track & field team at Middlebury.

She earned NESCAC Championship honors in 2011 and 2012 in the 100 hurdles, setting a new Bates facility record in the spring of 2012. She twice qualified for the NCAA's, while earning All-New England honors four times in the 100 hurdles as well as All-ECAC honors.

Martinez was twice named an academic All-American by the USTFCCA, while also being named to the All-NESCAC Academic team in 2011 and 2012.
