Tommie Lark, Wesleyan University
Tommie Lark, a resident of Amherst, Mass., was
one of the most accomplished Wesleyan track athletes of all time
over his four years.
Attending the NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships each
of his four opportunities, he steadily progressed from his freshman
to senior year, earning All-America honors in 2011 with an
eighth-place finish in the triple jump, and capping his career by
finishing fifth in the event as a senior in 2012. Along the way,
Tommie broke the school records in both the triple jump and long
jump, propelling himself 23-5 in the latter and 49-3 in the
former.
Competing indoors as well, Tommie was a two-time All-American in
the triple jump as well, placing sixth in 2011 and fifth in 2012.
He also owns the Wesleyan record for the indoor triple jump with an
effort of 49-1 1/2.
As Wesleyan's Carl Aherns Memorial Award winner during the 2011-12
season, Tommie was recognized as the top contributor to men's
athletics at the college during his final year. In addition to his
four All-America performances, Tommie was all-New England Division
III indoors seven times and outdoors five times. He received
all-New England Open honors indoors six times and outdoors four
times. He was all-ECAC Division III indoors three times and
outdoors once.
He was unparalleled at Wesleyan with regard to All-NESCAC laurels
as he was top-three in both the long jump and triple jump each of
his four years with a pair of titles, capturing the 2011 and 2012
NESCAC triple-jump crowns.
