HADLEY, Mass. – Trinity senior outfielder James Wood and Tufts sophomore RHP Chris DeGoti have been honored as All-America by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA). Selected as All-NESCAC First Team members this spring by the conference coaches, the two players were the only ones from the NESCAC on the annual All-America teams. Wood earned a spot on the Second Team, while DeGoti was chosen as a member of the Third Team.

The 2010 NESCAC Co-Player of the Year along with Williams senior outfielder Al Mathews, Wood collected All-Conference First Team recognition for the third time during his tenure with the Bantams (2007, 2008). Second only to Mathews among conference hitters this season, Wood batted .441 with a .504 on-base mark along with a slugging percentage of .881 that ranked second in the NESCAC. His 13 home runs in 2010, one more than the 12 he clubbed in 2008, are second all-time at Trinity for a single season. Starting all 30 games for the Bantams, Wood also managed to score 42 runs and drove in 42 more. He was also selected as the 2010 New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) Player of the Year.

DeGoti recorded a 1.17 earned run average in 20 appearances for Tufts this season. He surrendered just three earned runs in 23 total innings, and struck out 23 while allowing only nine walks. Five of his saves came in NESCAC East Division play, where Tufts finished 10-2 to win the pennant and earn the right to host the conference championship. He did not allow a run in six NESCAC divisional appearances. The Jumbos went on to win the NESCAC title, the program's second, with DeGoti saving two out of the three games during the championship weekend.

DeGoti recorded a six-out save against Eastern Conn. St. in game seven of the NCAA Regional hosted by the Warriors, allowing just one hit to finish off a 3-0 win.

The 2010 Jumbos smashed the previous school record for victories with their 34-7 mark this spring.
