Williams 13th After Day One at 2008 NCAA Men's Golf Championship

BRASELTON, Ga. - Williams College, the 2008 NESCAC Golf Champions, is in sole possession of 13th after day one at the 2008 NCAA Golf Championship at the Chateau Elan Resort hosted by Emory University and the Gwinnett Sports Commission. The Ephs posted a day one score of 313 (+29).
The top five team totals after the
first round are La Verne (291) followed by Skidmore College (301)
with St. John's Fisher (302) in third. SCIAC member Redlands and
Linfield are tied for fourth at 304.
La Verne, which played its first round at the Par 71 Chateau
Course, was paced by sophomore Andrew Kramer who fired an even-par
71 to place fourth overall in the individual standings. Kramer was
joined by senior Chris Davis who carded a 72 (+1) along with senior
Jordan Talah and Rizal Amin who each shot 73 (+2) for the day.
Sophomore Mitchell Fedorka finished with a round of 74 (+3).
Day two begins at 8:00 a.m., with the first Williams tee time occurring at 8:45 a.m. The field of 35 will be cut to 23 after day two. Freshman Drew Murray (Sleepy Hollow, N.Y.) carded a day one score of 73 (+2) to lead the Ephs and tie for ninth overall.
