MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - Day one is complete at the 2008-09 NESCAC Golf Qualifier hosted by Middlebury College on the par 71 Ralph Myhre Golf Course. The host school from Middlebury holds a two-shot lead over Trinity as the Panthers boasted a 292 on day one. The Bantams shot a 294, followed by Hamilton (300), Williams (304) and Wesleyan (310), who rounded out the top five.

Jeff Corbett of Hamilton, Reid Longley of Trinity and Jimmy Levins of Middlebury were the day one leaders, each coming in with a one-under-par 70 on the afternoon. Wesleyan’s Pete Taylor and Jack Killea of Williams each shot an even par 71 on the day.

Play resumes on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. with 18 more holes as the top four finishers qualify for the championship event in the spring. If inclement weather forces the cancellation of Sunday's round, Saturday's scores will be used to determine participation in the spring championship.
