Williams Grabs Lead at 2012 NESCAC Women's Golf Invitational
MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - Williams College carded a team score of 328 to gain an early lead at the 2012 NESCAC Women's Golf Invitational. Four players placed in the top 10 for the Ephs, who will enter the second and final day of the tournament with a 10-stroke lead over host Middlebury College (338). The event is being held in conjunction with the Middlebury Invitational at the Ralph Myhre Golf Course (par 71 - 5,801 yards).
Georgiana Salant set the tone for Williams with
her tally of 78 (+7). She will enter Sunday's round leading
Middlebury's Keely Levins (pictured
right) (79) by one stroke.
The remainder of the top five includes Shelby
Shote of Williams (80), Elizabeth Monty
of Amherst College (82), Jordan Glatt of
Middlebury (82) and Sooji Choi of Amherst
(83).
Tournament play will conclude with 18 holes tomorrow. Trailing
Williams and Middlebury are Amherst (343), Bowdoin College (398),
Hamilton College (414) and Bates College (453). The Ephs took home
the title last year.
