Hamilton to Join NESCAC as Full-Playing Member
HADLEY, Mass. Hamilton College will join the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) as a full-playing member effective with the start of the 2011-12 academic year, it was announced today by Barry Mills, President of Bowdoin College and chair of the NESCAC presidents, and Andrea Savage, Executive Director of the NESCAC.

Middlebury's Rudin Named NABC Second Team All-American
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced on Friday the 2009 State Farm Coaches Division III All-America teams. Middlebury senior guard Ben Rudin (Scarsdale, N.Y.) was named to the Second Team, the first player in program history to earn All-America honors.

HADLEY, Mass. - The season came to a close over the weekend for both Amherst and Middlebury in the 2009 NCAA Mens Basketball Tournament. The Lord Jeffs and the Panthers both fell in their first tournament game this past weekend.

Bridgewater St. Upends Middlebury 78-76 in NCAA Men's Basketball Second Round
MIDDLEBURY, Vt. Bridgewater States Stace Garrick hit two clutch three-pointers in the final 37 seconds of the game to lift the Bears to a 78-76 victory over Middlebury in a sold-out Pepin Gym (1,200). Bridgewater (22-6) earns its school-record 22nd win of the season and third NCAA Tournament victory, as they advance to the NCAA sectionals next weekend. Middlebury (24-4) ends the year with a school-record 24 victories and its second straight NCAA Tournament appearance.

Amherst Falls to Gwynedd-Mercy in NCAA Men's Basketball First Round
POMONA, N.J. The Amherst College mens basketball team made a valiant comeback Friday night against Gwynedd-Mercy College in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament, but the Griffins held on to defeat the Lord Jeffs, 68-62. Amherst (21-7) had made three consecutive trips to the Final Four, as this was the 12th NCAA Tournament appearance in program history. Fridays setback marks the first time in their 12 appearances the Lord Jeffs have not advanced past the opening round.
