Scoring 18 points to lead the Cardinals to their first-ever NESCAC title, Mackey scored all of his points on three-pointers, going 6-for-13 from downtown to become Wesleyan’s single-season three-point leader, now with 75 on the year. The previous record was 73, set in 2000-01. Mackey opened scoring in overtime against Amherst with a three-pointer at the 2:14 mark, giving Wesleyan the lead for good. He also had two perfect passes to sophomore Joseph Kuo for dunks in overtime, padding the advantage. In Wesleyan’s 55-52 semifinal victory over Trinity, Mackey had 10 points. Playing 71 minutes over the two games, Mackey committed just one turnover, had two steals and 10 rebounds.

Hausman scored 25 of his game-high 37 points in the second half as the Polar Bears rallied from a seven-point halftime deficit to defeat Williams in the NESCAC Quarterfinals Saturday. Hausman was 7-for-9 from the field in second half, almost singlehandedly matching Williams’ second-half score (30-25). He gave Bowdoin the lead for good with under 12 minutes remaining and scored seven points in a decisive 11-0 run for the Polar Bears. Hausman was two points shy of tying the NESCAC Championship single-game scoring mark. He is averaging 27.8 points per game in his last six contests.

Hausman enjoyed a record-setting weekend to propel Bowdoin to the No. 2 seed in the NESCAC Tournament - the team’s highest-ever seed for the conference tourney. Hausman tied the school record with 44 points on 20-for-25 shooting from the field on Friday as the Polar Bears defeated Bates, 98-70. On Saturday against Tufts, Hausman again led all scorers with a game-high 16 points to go with seven rebounds in a 57-54 defensive struggle. Hausman is now tied for the league lead at 20.1 points per game this season.
