Townsend, Middlebury (Senior, Forward - Pennington, N.J.) Townsend broke a 2-2 tie on Sunday during the final of the 2010 NESCAC Men’s Ice Hockey Championship by scoring the game-winner with just 1:42 remaining to lift the Panthers to a 3-2 victory over Bowdoin. He also assisted on the game’s first goal during Saturday’s 4-2 win against Trinity. Townsend has come on strong as of late, tallying 10 goals in his last 12 outings. |

Dubuc, Middlebury (Freshman, Forward - Blainville, Quebec) Dubuc played a part in four of the Panthers’ six goals during a 6-2 victory over Tufts in the quarterfinals of the 2010 NESCAC Men’s Ice Hockey Championship on Saturday, scoring three goals and adding an assist. One of Dubuc’s three goals came while Middlebury was on the power play. He is second among his teammates and first among conference rookies with 13 goals and 14 assists for 27 points. |

Scarpino, Hamilton (Sophomore, Forward - Meadville, Pa.) Scarpino had five points on two goals and three assists during a 2-0-0 weekend for the Continentals. On Friday evening, Scarpino had two goals, including the eventual game-winner, along with a helper on a third tally as Hamilton downed UMass Boston by a 6-2 score. He followed on Saturday with two assists, registering the lone assist on the game-winning goal in overtime in a 4-3 win against Babson. It was the first win for the Continentals over the Beavers since Nov. 17, 2001. |

Reich, Bowdoin (Junior, Defenseman - Montvale, N.J.) Reich netted three goals and an assist to lead the Polar Bears to a key 2-0-0 showing on the road and sole possession of first place in the conference standings with two games left in the regular season. On Friday in a 4-2 win at Trinity, Reich scored the game’s first two goals on Bowdoin’s first two power play opportunities. He followed on Saturday with two more man-advantage points, assisting on the Polar Bears’ first tally before netting the game’s final goal in a 5-2 victory at Wesleyan. Reich also anchored a Bowdoin defense that allowed only four goals over the weekend. |

Rossi, Bowdoin (Senior, Goaltender - Barrington, R.I.) Rossi stifled a pair of hot opponents this past weekend, posting a .939 save percentage and a 1.50 goals against average in wins over Amherst (4-2) and Hamilton (5-1). On Friday, Rossi’s 23-save performance helped the Polar Bears snap the Lord Jeffs’ 13-game unbeaten streak. He followed on Saturday with another 23 stops against the Continentals, who were in the midst of a seven-game unbeaten streak. The wins moved Rossi to 8-0-1 this season. |

Smigelski, Williams (Senior, Forward - Mountain Lakes, N.J.) Smigelski scored three goals and added two assists during a 2-0-0 weekend that pushed the Ephs into first place in the conference standings. Smigelski factored into all four Williams goals during Friday’s 4-1 win over St. Michael’s, scoring two and assisting on two others. Saturday afternoon, Smigelski tallied the game-winner in the third period on the power-play to help Williams hand Norwich its first loss of the season, 2-1. Smigelski leads the league in goals this season with 16. |

Kelly, Hamilton (Sophomore, Forward - Plymouth, Mass.) Kelly had four goals - including both game-winners - during a 2-0-0 weekend for the Continentals. Three of his four tallies came on special teams play, with two being scored on the power play and the other while Hamilton was short-handed. On Friday in a 4-1 win over Southern Maine, Kelly had the Continentals’ first two goals, both while his team had the man-advantage. Saturday afternoon against the University of New England, Kelly tied the contest at 1-all in the first with a short-handed score before his overtime goal with less than a minute remaining produced a 5-4 win for Hamilton. Kelly also skates on the top penalty-killing unit, as the Continentals’ opponents went 0-for-5 on the power play. |

Crinnion, Colby (Junior, Forward - Long Island, N.Y.) Crinnion posted two goals and two assists during a 2-0-0 week for the Mules. Down 2-0 to Connecticut College after the first period on Friday, Crinnion started the Colby rally with his team’s first goal and eventually potted the game-winner on the power-play with just 1:25 remaining in the third for a 4-3 victory against the Camels. He followed on Saturday with two assists in a 5-3 win over Tufts. Crinnion, who has at least one point in 12 of the Mules’ last 13 games, leads Colby in scoring with 10 goals and 13 assists for 23 points. |

Vesprini, Trinity (Junior, Goaltender - Lexington, Mass.) Vesprini had a 1-0-1 weekend for the Bantams, making 63 saves on 66 shots for a save percentage of .955. Friday evening, Vesprini stopped 38 shots in a 2-2 draw with Middlebury. He added another 25 saves to his totals on Saturday in a 4-1 victory against Williams. |

Guay, Wesleyan (Freshman, Forward - North Scituate, R.I.) Guay collected three goals and an assist in a split weekend for the Cardinals. Guay scored twice and assisted on another tally in Friday’s 6-2 win over Williams, the first win by Wesleyan over the Ephs at home in program history and only the fourth in the 46-game series. He followed on Saturday with the Cardinals’ lone goal in a 3-1 setback to Middlebury. |

Capuano, Connecticut College (Junior, Forward - Melrose, Mass.) Capuano had three goals and an assist during a weekend split for the Camels. On Friday against UMass Boston, Capuano had two goals, including the eventual game-winner at 4:54 of the second period, in a 5-2 win for his team. He followed on Saturday by playing a part in both Connecticut College tallies during a 4-2 setback to Babson, recording a goal and an assist. Through 11 games this season, Capuano is second for the Camels in scoring with five goals and four assists for nine points, including three power-play goals. |

On Saturday during a 4-0 victory over Babson, Drolet tallied a goal and added two assists. He followed on Sunday during a 5-2 win against Southern Maine with two goals and an assist. Drolet, who assisted on both game-winners during the tournament, leads the NESCAC in scoring with seven goals and 11 assists for 18 points. |

Jarnot, Colby (Senior, Defenseman - Concord, N.H.) Jarnot had three goals - including both game-winners - during a home-and-home sweep by the Mules of rival Bowdoin over the weekend. Jarnot was credited with the decisive goal in a 4-2 win at home on Friday, then had the first and final goal for Colby in a 4-3 road victory on Saturday. Jarnot and the Colby defense held the league’s top scoring offense to just five goals for the weekend and a 1-for-11 showing on the power play. It was the first season sweep for Colby over Bowdoin since the 1996-97 season. |

Barchard recorded 115 saves on 119 shots (.966) as the Jumbos earned victories at New England College on Friday, 3-1, and St. Anselm on Saturday, 4-3 in overtime. On Friday evening against the Pilgrims, Barchard stopped 52-of-53 shots, then turned around on Saturday and made a program-record 63 saves on 66 shots against the Hawks. During Tufts’ four-game winning streak, Barchard has posted a .960 save percentage, making more than 45 saves in three of the four victories. |

After earning an assist during a 3-1 setback to Plattsburgh St. on Friday, Drolet recorded two goals and three assists in a 7-3 victory over Wis.-Stout on Saturday. |

Purdy, Williams (Sophomore, Goaltender - La Jolla, Calif.) Purdy stopped a lot of rubber in a 1-0-1 weekend for his team, making 98 saves on 103 shots (.951) as the Ephs earned a 4-4 tie with Babson at home on Saturday, then picked up a 5-1 road win at Manhattanville on Sunday. Purdy stopped 54 shots in the draw with Babson, followed by another 44 saves during Sunday’s win. |

Vesprini, Trinity (Junior, Goaltender - Lexington, Mass.) Vesprini stopped 61 of 63 shots faced (.968) as he helped the Bantams pick up two road victories to start the season in NESCAC play. On Friday at Hamilton, Vesprini made 27 saves while allowing two goals in a 6-2 win for Trinity. Saturday afternoon at defending NESCAC champ Amherst, Vesprini turned aside 34 shots, including 15 in the first period, for a 2-0 shutout victory over the Lord Jeffs. |
