HADLEY, Mass. - NESCAC Men's Ice Hockey Champion Amherst College will host a quarterfinal game in the 2012 edition of the NCAA Tournament. The Lord Jeffs (23-3-1) will take on Plattsburgh St. (19-4-4) on Saturday, March 12 at 7:00 p.m.

During the 2009 tournament, Amherst won its first NCAA game, downing Babson 4-1 in the first round. The Jeffs had their tournament run end in the quarterfinals to Hobart, 2-1 in overtime.

The Cardinals, who won the SUNYAC championship on Saturday over Oswego St., 3-2, are making their fifth consecutive appearance and 20th overall, the most in tournament history. Last winter, Plattsburgh St. fell to Norwich in the quarterfinals in overtime, 3-2.

Plattsburgh St. won its first NCAA championship in 1992, then added a second title in 2001.
