Blake of Williams Earns Player of the Year
HARTFORD, Conn. – Sophomore forward Alex Blake of Williams was named the 2000 NESCAC Men’s Soccer Player of the Year. Blake, the 1999 NESCAC Rookie of the Year, led the conference in scoring with 18 goals and 41 points in leading the Ephs to the top seed in the conference tournament.
Blake’s teammates Ted Giannacopoulos and Josef Powell each earned first-team All-NESCAC honors for the second consecutive year. Giannacopoulos, a junior forward, and Powell, a junior midfielder, were the only two non-seniors named to the first team in 1999.
