NESCAC Men's Soccer Championship Field Announced
Bowdoin Earns Top Seed, First Round Bye
HARTFORD, Conn. - Bowdoin College finished the NESCAC men's soccer regular season with a 7-1-1 mark and has earned the top seed in the conference tournament. Bowdoin, who finished 10-2-2 on the year, will host the semifinals and finals on Saturday-Sunday, November 9-10.
Williams (7-2 NESCAC, 11-3 overall) will be the second seed and will host seventh seed Wesleyan (4-5 NESCAC, 9-5 overall) on Sunday, November 3 at 12:00 pm. Williams defeated Wesleyan 2-0 on the final day of the regular season.
Middlebury (5-2-2 NESCAC, 8-3-3 overall) enters the tournament as the third seed and will host sixth seed Trinity (4-4-1 NESCAC, 7-6-1 overall) while fourth-seeded Amherst (6-3 NESCAC, 10-3-1 overall) will host fifth seed Tufts (4-4-1 NESCAC, 9-3-1 overall).
Middlebury tied Trinity 1-1 in an earlier meeting. Tufts defeated Amherst 3-1 on the first weekend of the regular season.
The top seven teams qualify for the NESCAC Championship. First round games will be played on Sunday, November 3 at 12:00 pm. First round winners will advance to the semifinals at Bowdoin on Saturday, November 9. Teams are reseeded entering the semifinal round with number one seed Bowdoin playing the lowest remaining seed. The NESCAC Champion receives an automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Championship.
