Two Teams Reach Semifinals in NCAA Men's Doubles Championship

CLAREMONT, Calif. – Two men's doubles teams have reached Sunday's semifinal round in the NCAA doubles championship. Bowdoin's duo of Oscar Pena and Stephen Sullivan and the Amherst tandem of Moritz Koenig and Wes Waterman won their first two matches in the individual tournament to reach Sunday's semifinals.

Pena and Sullivan won their first round Friday match, 6-1, 6-3, and then came away with a 4-6, 6-2, 7-5 win in the quarterfinals on Saturday.

Koenig and Waterman claimed a three-set victory on Friday, 5-7, 6-3, 6-2, and then advanced on Saturday with another three-set win, 2-6, 6-3, 6-1.

If Pena/Sullivan and Koenig/Waterman win in the semifinals, they will meet for the individual doubles title later today.

In the men's individual championship, Middlebury senior Andy Peters fell in the singles quarterfinals to Dillon Pottish, 6-2, 6-4.
