Former Connecticut College Rower Williams Honored as Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar
NEW LONDON, Conn. - Katie Williams, a 2009 graduate of Connecticut College and a former member of the Camels' women's rowing squad, has received national distinction as an Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar by Diverse: Issues in Higher Education Magazine.

Three Former Trinity Rowers to Represent United States at World Championships
WEST WINDSOR, N.J. - Three former members of the Trinity College men's rowing team have been selected to the 2009 United States National Men's Rowing Team that will compete in the World Championships in Poznan, Poland from August 23-30. Peter ('07) and Tom Graves ('05) will make up both halves of the US double sculls pair, while Brian DeRegt ('09) will row as a member of the US lightweight men's four crew without coxswain.

Matias of Hamilton Becomes First Men's Rower from Angola to Compete at U23 Rowing Championships
CLINTON, N.Y. - Hamilton College junior André Matias (Luanda, Angola) competed in the Under-23 World Rowing Championships in Racice, Czech Republic, from July 23 to July 26. Matias was entered in the lightweight men's single sculls and represented his home country of Angola.

Williams' Robinson Garners Silver at U23 Rowing Championships
RACICE, Czech Republic - Katherine Robinson (Marysville, WA) and the US lightweight quad saved its best race for the Finals A race at the U23 World Rowing Championships in Racice, Czech Republic and powered to a silver medal, beating out two boats that had posted faster qualifying times. Robinson is a 2009 graduate of Williams and a former member of the Ephs' women's rowing team.
