2002 Softball Players of the Week
May 6, 2002
Jodie Moreau, Tufts
(Senior, Pitcher - Clarksburg, Mass)
Moreau pitched shutouts in all three games at the NESCAC Softball
Championship as Tufts won its second straight title. She threw a
five-inning perfect game on Friday against Amherst. She followed
that up with a four-hit, 1-0 win over Williams, and then a two-hit
win in the title game. In 19 total innings, she allowed six hits
and did not allow a walk as she led Tufts to its sixth consecutive
NCAA Division III tournament berth. She lowered her national top-10
earned run average to 0.51.

Katherine Baldwin, Williams
(Junior, Pitcher/First Baseman - Yantic, Conn.)
Baldwin tossed 15 scoreless innings with 13 strikeouts while
recording two wins and a save. She earned a win and a save in a
doubleheader sweep of host Amherst as Williams gained the top seed
in the West Division. Baldwin, who hit .307 for the week, also
threw a two-hitter with six strikeouts in a 1-0 win over Keene
State..
April 22, 2002
Jen Mackey, Tufts
(Senior, Shortstop - Swampscott, Mass.)
Mackey hit .500 (8-for-16) with six runs scored in a 4-0 week for
Tufts, which included a sweep of regional rival Springfield and a
sweep of East Division foe Bates. She went 3-for-5 with two runs
scored in an 8-5 win over Springfield and finished 3-for-4 with two
runs scored in an 8-0 victory over Bates.
April 15, 2002
Erin Hanley, Bowdoin
(Sophomore, Pitcher - Foxboro, Mass.)
Hanley threw two complete game shutouts, including the third
no-hitter in school history. She tossed the no-hitter in a 5-0 win
over Plymouth State on Monday. She threw a three-hitter in a
shutout victory over Husson.
April 8, 2002
Jodie Moreau, Tufts
(Senior, P - Clarksburg, Mass.)
Moreau posted a 2-0 record, 0.50 earned run average, and struck out
11 in 14 innings. She threw a five-hitter in a 3-1 win over
fourth-ranked Wheaton and pitched a four-hit shutout against NESCAC
East rival Bowdoin. Moreau, who improved to 9-0 with a 0.39 earned
run average this season, became the school's all-time leader in
strikeouts with 339, surpassing the previous mark of 334 set by
Michelle Lima (1994-97).
April 1, 2002
Jodie Moreau, Tufts
(Senior, P - Clarksburg, Mass)
Moreau recorded a 7-0 record and 0.35 earned run average with 32
strikeouts in 40 innings to start the season. She threw a
one-hitter against Williams, a two-hitter versus Concordia, and
earned the win relief in a victory over Redlands. She is also
hitting .300.
