HADLEY, Mass. - Tufts magical season came to a close over the weekend at the 2009 NCAA Softball Championship hosted by Montclair St. in Montclair, N.J. The 2009 NESCAC Softball Champion Jumbos went 2-2 at the event, earning wins over Cortland St. and Texas-Tyler.

Tufts Stays Alive at NCAA Softball Championship with 4-0 Victory Over Texas-Tyler
MONTCLAIR, N.J. - Making a name for themselves and the New England Region at the 2009 NCAA Softball Championships, the Tufts University Jumbos are now one of the final four teams playing after a solid 4-0 victory over the University of Texas at Tyler in an elimination game at Montclair State University on Sunday afternoon. The Jumbos (44-2) will get right back at it on Sunday night at 7:30 pm in another elimination game against Gustavus Adolphus. The winner will move on to the loser's bracket final to be played on Monday at noon.

Gustavus Adolphus Eliminates Tufts from NCAA Softball Championship
MONTCLAIR, N.J. - The extraordinary 2009 Tufts University softball season is over following a 5-0 loss to Gustavus Adolphus College at the NCAA Championships on Sunday night at Montclair State University. Gustavus sophomore pitcher Erin Truebenbach allowed just three Jumbo hits in the shutout victory.

Coe Edges Tufts 1-0 in NCAA Softball Championship
MONTCLAIR, N.J. - Coe College senior pitcher Sonja Schwenker shut out the Tufts University softball team in a winner's bracket game at the NCAA Championships on Saturday evening, allowing just three hits in a 1-0 victory for the Kohawks. Tufts (43-2) drops into the loser's bracket, where they will face the University of Texas-Tyler in an elimination game on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 pm.

Tufts Claims 3-1 Win Against Cortland St. in NCAA Softball Championship
LITTLE FALLS, N.J. - In a season of firsts for the Tufts University softball program, chalk up yet another milestone. The Jumbos scored single runs in the fifth and sixth innings against Second-Team All-American junior pitcher Katie Finch (Amsterdam, N.Y) and Tufts sophomore right-hander Izzie Santone (Madison, Conn.) did not allow an earned run over seven innings as Tufts defeated Cortland St., 3-1, in game three of the opening round of the 2009 NCAA Softball Championship, hosted by Montclair State University at the MSU Softball Stadium.
