Bates Reaches Women's Squash Final For First Time Ever
HARTFORD, Conn. - Defending champ Trinity will look to earn its sixth conference crown on Sunday afternoon when the top-seeded Bantams meet the second-seeded Bobcats of Bates in the final of the 2012 NESCAC Women's Squash Championship.
Trinity rolled to a 9-0 victory over Wesleyan in the quarterfinals before posting an 8-1 decision over last year's runner-up, Middlebury, in the semifinals.
Bates posted an 8-1 victory over rival Bowdoin in the quarterfinals, then edged Williams 5-4 in the semifinals to reach Sunday's championship for the first time ever. Four of the nine matches went to five games, with the Bobcats and the Ephs both winning two each.
Trinity won the only other meeting this season with Bates, recording an 8-1 win on Nov. 20.
Complete team and individual results for Saturday's action can be found on the championship bracket page or on the NESCAC scoreboard.
