Trinity Moves Past Bates for Women's Squash Championship

runner-up showing at the NESCAC Women's Squash Championship
following the tournament due to its forfeit of its semifinal match
against Williams on Feb. 4. Second place was not filled by any

HARTFORD, Conn. - Top-seeded Trinity College won its sixth
consecutive NESCAC title on Sunday, as the Bantams overcame the
second-seeded Bobcats of Bates by a 9-0 score in the championship
final.
Trinity finished the 2012 edition of the tournament by losing only one game over its three matches, cruising past Wesleyan 9-0 in the quarterfinals before posting an 8-1 decision over Middlebury in the semifinals on Saturday. The Bantams swept eight of the nine ladders in three games.
The Bobcats were making their first-ever appearance in Sunday's final, having reached the championship match for the first time in six tries following a thrilling 5-4 victory over Williams in Saturday's semifinals.
In the third place match, fourth-seeded Middlebury overcame third-seeded Williams by a 5-4 score.
