Williams Climbs to Fifth at NCAA Men's Swimming & Diving Championships

OXFORD, Ohio - Williams climbed from ninth into fifth place at the end of day two on Friday at the 2008 NCAA Men's Swimming & Diving Championships hosted by the College of Wooster at the the University of Miami’s (Ohio) Corwin M. Nixon Aquatic Center.  

Amherst moved from 14th after day one to 12th after day two, while Middlebury jumped from 26th to 18th. Hamilton is 34th, Connecticut College is 38th, and Tufts is in a three-way tie for 42nd.

With one day remaining, Kenyon well on their way to a 29th consecutive national championship, as their next closest competition is fellow North Coast Athletic Conference member Denison University. Kenyon has 429 total points to Denison’s 246.5, while also vying for runner-up honors is Johns Hopkins University (224).

The Division III national meet concludes on Saturday with preliminary heats once again beginning at 11 a.m., and the finals slated for a 6:30 p.m. start.
