MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - Williams College wrapped up its 12th consecutive NESCAC championship with its third-greatest margin of victory, outpointing second-place Amherst by a 368.5-point margin. Only the 578-point win during the 2010 Championships and a 398-point differential in 2009 were wider margins for the Ephs.

Amherst trailed Tufts after the first two days but pulled well ahead of the Jumbos for runner-up status. Tufts finished third.

Sophomore Maggie Rosenbaum from Hamilton completed the sweep of her specialty, winning the 200-yard backstroke, and was named Swimmer of the Meet. She won all three backstroke events a year ago as well.

Also sweeping her specialty, the butterfly, was Williams senior Logan Todhunter, as she captured the 200-yard fly. Williams junior Caroline Wilson showed her stamina by capturing the 1650-yard freestyle, giving her three wins in the meet as she took the 400 individual medley and 500 free earlier.

Bates picked up its first swimming crown since 2009 when senior Kara Leasure bettered the field in the 200-yard breaststroke.

Hamilton senior Megan Gibbons returned to the top spot on the podium with a victory in the 100-yard freestyle. She was the 2010 champ in the 50 free.

McKenzie Murdoch, a Williams sophomore, won the three-meter dive to go along with her one-meter title and was named Diver of the Meet.

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - Defending champ Williams extended its lead over second-place Tufts to an impressive total of 283.5 points after two days of the NESCAC Women's Swimming & Diving Championships at the Wesleyan Natatorium.

Tufts is in a dogfight with Amherst for second place as just 30 points separate the teams.

Eph junior Caroline Wilson and senior Logan Todhunter continued to put in their bids for Swimmer of the Meet as they won their second individual events of the Championships for Williams – Wilson captured her third straight 400-yard individual medley crown (4:24.35) while Todhunter conquered the competition for a fourth consecutive year in the 100-yard butterfly (:55.37). Todhunter won the 50 butterfly on the first day and Wilson was the 500-yard free champ.

Also making a run for meet laurels is Hamilton sophomore Maggie Rosenbaum as she set her second meet record of the weekend, winning the 100-yard backstroke for a second year in a row (55.23). She recorded a meet-record performance in the 50 back yesterday.

Also winning for the second time during the meet was Middlebury first-year Jamie Hillas with a victory in the 100-yard breaststroke, as she was the 50 breaststroke champion on Friday.

In perhaps the most exciting race of the evening, Connecticut College first-year Esther Mehesz touched out Amherst sophomore Anna Pietrantonio in the grueling 1,000-yard freestyle by a mere .13 seconds.

In tonight's relays, Hillas was part of Middlebury's winning 200-yard medley squad that established a meet record while both Todhunter and Wilson added a win in the 800-yard freestyle to their credits.
