The Jeffs made it a 2-0 game at the 6:23 mark of the second period with a goal from C.C. Wyshnytzky. Alyssa Chwick sent the puck in from the right side that was tipped by Wyshnytzky before apparently deflecting in off a defender’s skate. Laura Komarek sent the puck in from the left side where Michelle Chee tipped it in for the goal to make it a 2-1 Amherst lead.
Both teams had some quality opportunities to score in the third period, but Isabel Iwachiw of Trinity (29 saves) and Krystyn Elek of Amherst (23 saves) both stood their ground.
