2005 Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week

May 9, 2005
Kim Walker, Middlebury
(Sophomore, Midfielder - Ridgewood, N.J.)
Walker continued to be steady for Middlebury at the NESCAC Championship, as she has been all season long. The junior scored four goals over the two Panther wins, including three in the semifinal victory over Williams. She also had three ground balls, three draw controls and three caused turnovers to go along with her 11 shots. She currently leads the team with 40 goals on the season.

Kendall Cox, Bowdoin
(Senior, Goalkeeper - Guilford, Conn.)
Bowdoin netminder Kendall Cox had a stellar week as the Polar Bears won three games. Cox was especially outstanding over the weekend as she made eight saves, including three in overtime as Bowdoin beat Amherst 10-7 in the regular season finale. On Sunday against Wesleyan in the first round of the NESCAC Tournament, Cox made a season-high 14 saves in a 13-6 victory.

Rachel Barr, Williams
(Junior, Attacker - Hanover, N.H.)
In a 2-1 week, Williams attacker Rachel Barr tallied 12 goals and an assist. In a NESCAC first round victory on Sunday, Barr scored four goals with an assists as Williams upset Colby 8-6. In a Saturday 14-13 overtime victory over Wesleyan, Barr scored seven goals, including two in overtime, with seven draw controls, while causing six turnovers.

April 25, 2005
Schuyler Winstead, Middlebury
(Junior, Midfielder - Chevy Chase, Md.)
Schuyler Winstead scored seven goals and assisted on five others as Middlebury had a 2-0 week. She began the week with four goals and two assists in a road win at Skidmore. Winstead then paced the Panther offense with three goals and three assists as #2 Middlebury rolled over #3 Amherst, 18-6 in a key NESCAC contest.

April 18, 2005
Alyssa Briody, Amherst
(Sophomore, Attacker - Hopewell, N.J.)
Sophomore attacker Alyssa Briody posted a career week for third-ranked and undefeated Amherst, combining for nine goals and three assists in a pair of conference victories. She tallied five goals and two assists in a 15-8 win over Connecticut College on Thursday and followed with four goals, including the game-winner, and an assist in Saturday's 12-11 victory over Wesleyan.

Ashley Harmeling, Amherst
(Senior, Midfielder - North Reading, Mass.)
In two games this week, Ashley Harmeling posted a combined nine goals and two assists with NESCAC wins over two nationally ranked teams. A senior, Harmeling tallied four goals, including the game-winner, and an assist in Wednesday's 12-9 overtime win over Trinity and notched five goals and an assist in Saturday's 13-9 victory over Colby.

Ashley Harmeling, Amherst
(Senior, Midfielder - North Reading, Mass.)
Amherst senior Ashley Harmeling posted a combined nine goals and five assists in a 2-0 week for the third-ranked Jeffs. She racked up five goals and an assist in a 14-11 non-conference win at Springfield on Wednesday and followed with four more scores and four assists in Saturday's 13-8 win at Williams.

Elizabeth Reneham, Middlebury
(Junior, Midfielder - St. Davids, Pa.)
Renehan had an impressive four-game week for Middlebury as they opened the season at 3-1. Her biggest output of the week was a six-goal effort in a NESCAC win over Colby. The junior midfielder scored 10 goals and assisted on six others for 16 points over the four games.

Emma Miller, Colby
(Senior, Midfielder - Wellesley, Mass.)
Colby senior midfielder Emma Miller had a hand in eight of the Mules' nine goals in a 9-8 victory at sixth-ranked Williams College on Saturday. Miller, a co-captain, had three goals and five assists, including the eventual game-winning goal to help the Mules win their season opener.

Beatrice Gratry, Trinity
(Senior, Attacker - Hunting Valley, Ohio)
Beatrice Gratry led Trinity to two victories scoring 14 goals on the week. The senior attacker scored six goals in an 18-5 win against Eastern Connecticut and tallied eight goals and an assist in a 16-11 win against Rowan. Her totals give her 175 career goals and 216 career points, both of which are new Trinity career records.
