Bowdoin Takes Ithaca in NCAA Women's Tennis Tournament

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College women's tennis team swept Ithaca College 5-0 in the Second-Round of the NCAA Division III Tournament on Saturday. The Polar Bears, ranked sixth in the latest national poll, improve to 18-2 this season and will host the winner of Middlebury and Vassar on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.

Bowdoin cruised through the doubles matches, led by a strong showing from Sarah D'Elia and Kristen Raymond in the #1 position. The duo paired for an 8-2 win as the Polar Bears claimed 8-3 victories at both #2 and #3. A pair of straight-set singles wins at #6 by Liz Pedowitz and #5, by Rachel Waldman clinched the victory for Bowdoin.

Ithaca, who was making their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance, finishes a successful season with a record of 11-7.
