Hitchcock, Williams (Junior, MB - Penfield, N.Y.) Hitchcock was an instrumental part of the Ephs’ run to the title of the 2008 NESCAC Volleyball Championship, averaging 2.2 blocks per set (28 total) over three matches, including 15 in the 3-1 victory over Amherst in Sunday’s final. Hitchcock also posted 14 kills without an error during the weekend, hitting at a .437 clip. |

Joyce-Mendive, Tufts (Sophomore, OH/OPP - Minden, Nev.) Joyce-Mendive averaged 4.57 kills per set while hitting at a .325 rate to lead the Jumbos to two conference victories and a perfect 10-0 league mark. She had 18 kills in a 3-1 win over Wesleyan on Friday, then posted 14 more kills in a 3-0 victory against Trinity. Joyce-Mendive also added eight digs over the two matches. |

Handel, Middlebury (First Year, OH - Evanston, Ill.) Handel continued an impressive rookie season by having a steady week for a Panther team that went 4-0 and won the Silver Bracket of the Hall of Fame Invitational Tournament. Handel averaged 3.70 kills and 3.30 digs per set while hitting at a .366 rate to go along with five aces and a pair of blocks. |

DeMais, Connecticut College (Sophomore, Setter - Hillsdale, N.J.) DeMais averaged 10.5 assists along with 2.5 digs per set as she helped the Camels post a 3-0 record against NESCAC opponents at Trinity over the weekend. She had 44 assists in a 3-0 victory over Bates and again in a 3-2 decision against Bowdoin on Saturday. DeMais also contributed seven kills, seven aces and four blocks over 12 sets. |

Drennan, Wesleyan (Senior, OH - Ann Arbor, Mich.) Drennan averaged 4.57 kills per set while hitting at a rate of .391 during a pair of NESCAC victories over Connecticut College (3-0) and at Trinity (3-1). She also averaged 2.86 digs per set while contributing five aces and three blocks over the two matches. In Friday’s victory at Trinity, Drennan had 21 kills, 11 digs and four aces. |

Healy, Wesleyan (Junior, Setter - Manhattan Beach, Calif.) Healy carried Wesleyan to a 3-0 week as she averaged 10.62 assists per set, including a 12.25 average in the Cardinals’ 3-1 win over Trinity. She also contributed 12 kills, 27 digs, and three aces over 13 sets. |

Avis, Williams (Sophomore, Setter - Palo Alto, Calif.) Avis was named the MVP of the Williams Invitational after helping her team to the title and a 4-0 week. Avis averaged 10.2 assists per set, totaling 133 with 49 assists along with 18 digs in a 3-0 win over Skidmore for the championship. She also added five kills, five service aces, and three blocks. |

Updike, Tufts (Sophomore, MB/OH - Manhattan Beach, Calif.) Updike was named MVP of the MIT Invitational over the weekend, which the Jumbos won for the first time ever. Updike finished Tufts’ 5-0 week with 3.59 kills per set and a .345 hitting percentage while adding in 27 digs and three blocks. She posted double-digit kills in all four MIT Invitational matches, including 20 with just two errors in 46 attempts (.391) along with 16 digs in the five-set championship victory over Connecticut College. Tufts also had 3-0 victories over Colby and Wellesley and 3-1 wins over Brandeis and Springfield. |

Kanoff, Amherst (First Year, OH - Pacific Palisades, Calif.) Kanoff led the Jeffs to a 3-0 weekend in NESCAC action by averaging 3.33 kills, 4.00 digs and 1.89 service aces per set against Colby, Bates and Bowdoin while hitting at a rate of .302. During Amherst’s 3-0 win over Bowdoin on Saturday, Kanoff had a career-high 15 kills and 14 digs along with four aces, as she only committed three errors on 27 chances. |

Hanczor, Bowdoin (First Year, MB - Redding, Conn.) Hanczor averaged 3.8 kills per set during a perfect 3-0 week for the Polar Bears, which included a pair of victories at the Colby-Bates-Bowdoin Championship. In addition to her 38 kills, she collected a team-high 14 blocks and connected on over 42-percent of her attacks. |

Denniston, Tufts (Senior, MB/OPP - Tarzana, Calif.) Denniston was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Brandeis Invitational as the Jumbos went 4-0 at the event. Denniston hit a solid .465 with 21 kills (2.1 per set) with just one error in 43 attempts. She also served six aces and had seven blocks. For the week, she had 25 kills and an attack percent of .429. |

Drennan, Wesleyan (Senior, OH - Ann Arbor, Mich.) During a 2-1 week for the Cardinals, Drennan averaged 6.25 kills per set with a .407 hitting percentage. She broke the team record for kills in a match, which she had previously set, with 34 against Williams as Wesleyan earned a 3-2 victory, the first victory for the Cardinals over the Ephs in the last 12 meetings dating back to 2001. She also averaged 1.92 digs per set and collected five aces and eight blocks. |
