BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin
College Student Athlete Advisory Committee (BSAAC) will host a
month of clinics for Special Olympics Maine athletes in February,
culminating in a campus campaign to "Spread the Word to End the
Bowdoin athletes will host three February events that will include an opportunity for Special Olympic athletes to learn more about each sport and enjoy unified play with the Polar Bears. The schedule of events is as follows:
THURSDAY, FEB. 12
VOLLEYBALL CLINIC/GAMES (MORRELL GYMNASIUM) 6:30-8:30 p.m.
SUNDAY, FEB. 22
BASKETBALL CLINIC/GAMES (MORRELL GYMNASIUM) 3-5 p.m.
FRIDAY, FEB. 27
BOWLING FUN (YANKEE LANES, BRUNSWICK) 3:30-5:30 p.m.
At the culmination of these February events, the Bowdoin SAAC will engage in a campus campaign to "Spread the Word to End the Word" and pledge to eliminate the use of the R-word. The national Special Olympics, Inc. annual day of awareness for this campaign is March 4, 2015.
Finally, Bowdoin will host its fourth annual Spring Track and Field Clinic at the Farley Field house on April 11 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
