BOSTON, Mass. - Members from three of the 40 NESCAC teams who have drafted players onto their respective squads through Team IMPACT, along with the draftees, served on a panel at the Team IMPACT Game Day Gala in Boston on April 2.
Shannon and Hannah Foley of the Tufts women's basketball team, Aliana and Carly Feinman of the Wesleyan swimming and diving team and Zach and Sean Dougherty of the Williams men's ice hockey team were interviewed by the event's emcee, ESPN personality Wendi Nix, to describe their experience in the program that pairs children with disabilities or illness with college athletic teams.
In the nearly four years Team IMPACT has been in operation, over 650 children nationwide, covering 42 states, have been united with college teams. The children thrive in the association with the older student-athletes and the college student-athletes gain life lessons that cannot be learned in a classroom.
