HARTFORD, Conn. - Several Trinity College spring sports teams will be wearing red to support the Red Sneakers for Oakley Campaign. Trinity men's and women's lacrosse, baseball and softball will be wearing red in home games this week to support the cause.
Red Sneakers for Oakley is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness for the dangers of food allergies. The organization was created in honor of Oakley Dobbs, a high-energy and adventurous young boy from West Palm Beach who passed away at the age of 11 from a severe anaphylactic response to a tree nut allergy.
Please join the Bantams in the fight against food allergies by posting your Red Sneakers to social media in honor of Oakley Debbs and the 17 million other food allergy sufferers in the United States by tagging: @RedSneakersforOakley and #livlikoaks.
Below are this week's games where teams will be taking part in the initiative. Trinity's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will have an information table at each event for those interested to learn more about the cause.
