HARTFORD, Conn. - The Trinity College men's and women's basketball programs will host its "Toys for Tots" toy drive on Saturday, December 8th. The women's team hosts Connecticut College at 1 p.m. before the men take on Clarkson at 3 p.m. The Bantams encourage their friends and family to bring an unwrapped toy to the game to help the Toys for Tots program.
"As a team, we’re thankful to be able to support and promote an organization like Toys for Tots through an athletic platform," said Trinity Women's Head Coach Emily Garner. "We feel very fortunate to be able to give back, especially at this time of year, and to bring a little joy to those less fortunate than us. We’re also extremely grateful to our incredible families, fans and administrators that make events like these possible."
The U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program aims to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November, and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which the campaign is conducted. The Bantams ask that those willing to help bring new, unwrapped toys to Saturday's games to help with the drive.
