Hope Matthews graduated from Middlebury in May of 2018 with a 3.64 grade point average and degree in computer science with a minor in geology. She was a member of both the Panther women's golf and women's squash teams. Matthews is a Greenwich, Connecticut native and a product of the Greenwich Academy.
On the golf course, she competed in every invitational during her four years as a Panther. A captain during the 2017-18 season, Matthews finished each of those tournaments with scores in the 70s and 80s, including a career-best 77 twice. She fired 77s during the season-ending Williams Invitational in April of 2015 and during the Mount Holyoke Invitational in September of 2016.
She was also a four-year member of the Panther women's squash team, playing mainly at the bottom of the ladder. Matthews was a part of a team that posted a trio of third-place finishes in the NESCAC Tournament during her career and made four appearances in the College Squash Association's (CSA) Kurtz Cup.
