NESCAC Holds Gameday The DIII Way Session for Members

AMHERST, Mass. – Over 30 athletic administrators and campus safety personnel from NESCAC schools gathered at Amherst College on October 30 to participate in a “Gameday the DIII Way” train the trainer session.

This summer, Division III partnered with the Disney Institute’s professional development and leadership training wing to help administrators and game managers achieve better behavior at Division III contests across the country.

Jon Hind, Hamilton College Director of Athletics, was one of 60 Division III administrators and coaches who received facilitator training in June in Orlando, Florida. Hind shared his experience and directed a training session with NESCAC colleagues who could take the key points and apply them on their respective campuses to help enhance their game day operations and atmospheres.

The “Gameday the DIII Way” training centers on safety, responsiveness, dignity, and experience as four key service standards and behaviors and uses those core principles to create a respectful and engaging educational environment through athletics, for everyone.
