All 11 NESCAC Schools Ranked in Final Winter Directors' Cup Standings

Learfield Directors' Cup

CLEVELAND, Ohio – All 11 NESCAC schools can be found in the final winter standings of the 2018-19 Division III Learfield Directors' Cup, as schools garnered top-10 finishes in seven different sports this season. Williams stands in second place with 744.00 points. The Ephs earned five top-10 finishes during the winter season, including winning the NCAA title in women's indoor track & field.


Middlebury, Amherst, and Tufts also rank in the top 10. The Panthers sit in fourth place with 594.75 points, highlighted by a 10th place finish in skiing. The Mammoths are in seventh place after the winter season with 558.75 points. Amherst finished eighth in women's swimming & diving and was ninth in both men's and women's basketball and men's swimming & diving. Tufts earned eighth in the standings with 558.33 points. The women's basketball team placed fifth and the men's swimming & diving team finished 10th at the NCAA Championships.

Bowdoin was 23rd with 333.00 points after its women's basketball team finished as the national runner up at the NCAA Championship and the men's and women's swimming & diving teams, as well as the ski team, picked up top-20 finishes in their respective NCAA competitions.

Rounding out the conference contingent is Bates in 38th (256.00), Wesleyan in 54th (202.00), Connecticut College in 104th (110.00), Colby in 114th (98.50), Hamilton in 162nd (64.00), and Trinity in 236th (25.00).

The Learfield Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 18 sports -- nine women's and nine men's. The first Division III spring standings will be released in mid-May.
