Jason Foster, Colby College

Jason Foster earned ESPN The Magazine National Academic All-America honors for track and field and earned two throwing All-America honors during the indoor and outdoor seasons. He was fourth in the hammer throw at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships in May.

Foster finished his final indoor season by taking seventh and setting a school record with a throw of 61 feet in the 35-pound weight throw. Foster showed enough leadership qualities to earn captain status during his sophomore year and was a captain for six seasons (indoor and outdoor track and field) for the Mules. Foster was the 2005 NESCAC champion in the hammer throw and was second in the event this year. His best throw of 191-02 in the hammer ranked second all-time at Colby to three-time national champion Jamie Brewster.

During the 2006 outdoor track season, he won the Maine State title in the hammer throw and took second in the event at the New England Division III Championships.

Foster was a five-time NESCAC All-Academic selection for the winter and spring seasons. He also served on a number of committees around the Colby campus, including SAAC. Foster earned Colby's Donald P. Lake Award for a member of the senior class with outstanding athletic ability, leadership and academic accomplishment.
