Josh Kahane, Colby College

 

Josh Kahane played all four years with the Colby men's soccer team, starting his last two years in goal and earning All-NESCAC goalkeeper honors in his senior season.

Kahane earned Colby's Donald P. Lake Award for a senior who has shown outstanding athletic ability, leadership, and academic accomplishment. A co-captain of the 2006 squad, Kahane's teammates voted him as the winner of the soccer squad's Sam Koch Award for spirit and dedication to the team.

Kahane made 55 saves this year and had a 1.27 goals against average in helping the Mules to a winning season. An economics (financial markets concentration) major at Colby, Josh had a high grade point average and helped the soccer team earn the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Team Academic Award in all four years he was part of the squad. He also earned NESCAC Fall All-Academic honors in 2005 and 2006.

Kahane was founding member of the Colby Entrepreneur Club and was a Colby Cares About Kids mentor. He also was a tutor and teaching assistant in the economics department.
