Laura Williamson, Colby College

 

Laura Williamson, who was a four-year player in soccer and basketball, ranks among the best women's soccer players to have played at Colby.

She is the all-time leading scorer in women's soccer with 44 goals and 15 assists for 103 career points. She also holds the career record for goals and is the single-season record holder for points (35 in 2003).

Williamson earned All-NESCAC honors in all four of her years at Colby and was named the conference's top rookie in 2003. Laura served as a captain for both the soccer and basketball teams over the past two years. She finished with 352 points and 125 assists over the past four years in basketball.

Williamson was honored with Colby's Marjorie D. Bither Award, presented to a senior student-athlete for academic ability, athletic ability, and leadership in athletics and on campus.

Williamson volunteered her time with local basketball and soccer youth teams during her time at Colby. She is a past District I (New York and New England) All-Academic selection and has made NESCAC All-Academic Team as well. She will be a graduate assistant soccer coach at Smith College during the 2007-08 academic year and will work on her master's degree.
