Katie Gordon, Trinity College

Katie Gordon was Trinity's recipient of the both Susan E. Martin Award as the College's Most Outstanding Senior Female Scholar Athlete and the Robert R. Bartlett Award for excellent in athletics and campus/community service this past spring.  Gordon, an International Studies and Hispanic Studies major from Haverford, Pa., is a member of the College’s Phi Beta Kappa Society.

Gordon has been an exemplary performer in the classroom and on the water from her first day at Trinity. A four-year varsity rower on Trinity’s nationally-regarded varsity eight boat, she served as captain this past spring. In 2005, she rowed the No. 3 seat on the NCAA Division III National Championship crew.  The Bantam rowers have never missed the NCAA Championship Regatta in her career, winning two NESCAC titles, two New England titles, and an ECAC National Invitational title along the way.

Gordon, a two-time NESCAC All-Academic member and a Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association National Scholar Athlete, is equally passionate about her studies, having registered a 3.92 G.P.A. She has been named as a President’s Fellow by the Modern Languages Department.  Gordon’s service to campus and community is extensive. She was a Do-It Day coordinator this fall for the crew team, as well as a first-year mentor and a first-year paper editor this past year.  She played an integral advisory role in publicizing and championing the College’s Mellon Grant for Global and Urban Learning and has been a volunteer in the schools and boys and girls clubs in Southern Hartford.
