Ellen Davis, Wesleyan University
Culminating her four-year distance running career as a cross-country All-American in 2006 (ninth of 279 at Nationals), an NCAA Division III indoor track champion in the 5k in 2007 and a qualifier for the 2007 NCAA outdoor track championships where she placed 10th in the 10k, Ellen Davis set five school track records at Wesleyan.
A CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine third-team Academic All-American in cross country/track in 2007, Davis holds Wesleyan's indoor marks in the 3k, mile and 5k as well as the outdoor 5k and 10k. Her time of 16:28.22 in the 5k during the Penn Relays in April
2007 was the fastest time in the country in Division III and the eighth fastest time ever by a Division III female athlete. Davis made four straight excursions to the NCAAs in cross country with two All-America efforts. She was a three-time All-American in indoor track having placed eighth in the 5k in 2005 and fourth in 2006 before capturing the title in 2007. Davis was a team MVP in all three of her sports at Wesleyan and received the Hoaglund Award as the outstanding female athlete at the university in 2006-07. She was a two-time Academic All-NESCAC selection both indoor and outdoor track while also making the grade in cross country as a senior.
