Andrew Harris, Middlebury College
Andrew Harris was a four-year member of the men’s basketball team at Middlebury, graduating in the spring of 2008 with a degree in molecular biology/bio chemistry. He was a two-time District I Academic All-American by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors Association), while twice being named to the All-NESCAC Academic team.
Harris recently completed his senior season at Middlebury, leading the team to its first NCAA Tournament appearance with an impressive 19-8 record. He ended his career second on the school’s all-time list with 183 three-pointers, while holding the single-season record with a .456 three-point field goal percentage in ’06-’07. He finished his four-year career with 929 points, 245 rebounds, 79 assists and 77 steals.
Harris served as a co-captain during his senior year with the Panthers, showing true team leadership despite missing several games with an injury. Following his senior season, Harris was selected to play in the New England Division III Senior Men’s Basketball All-Star game.
Harris plans to attend medical school beginning in the fall of ’09. He was also the recipient of the school’s “Hazeltine-Klevenow Memorial Trophy”, award for best combining ability in athletics and excellence in scholarship.
