John Graves, Trinity College
John Graves was a two-sport athlete at Trinity College and a standout member of both the rowing and soccer teams. A captain of both teams, Graves was awarded the coveted 2010 McCook Award as the College's top male athlete after being selected to the All-NESCAC team in both sports.
This summer, Graves is rowing for the United States U-23 World Championship Team (lightweight single) after rowing for his country in pairs in 2009. Graves was also the Bantam men's soccer MVP, and helped Trinity qualify for the NESCAC Championship the last three seasons.
On the water, Graves helped Trinity to five major rowing championships in four years, and to a Temple Cup Finals appearance at the Henley Royal Regatta in 2008. Graves earned the Torch Award as the top contributor to the Bantam crews in 2010, and the David Wicks Award (Most outstanding first-year oarsman) in 2007.
