Stephan Koenigsberger

Stephan Koenigsberger graduated from Middlebury College in May of 2016 with a degree in geology.

A New York City native, Koenigsberger was a key contributor and point scorer for the Middlebury men’s swimming and diving team. He rewrote the Panther program’s record books in the breaststroke discipline, currently holding the fastest time in all three events (50 breaststroke, 100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke).

Koenigsberger was selected as an All-NESCAC performer in each of his four years in the breaststroke events, as well as earning All-American accolades in 2015. At the 2015 NCAA Championships in Shenandoah, Texas, he led the consolation field to the wall to the wall in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 55.08, good for ninth place and Honorable Mention All-American accolades.

The next day in the 200-yard breaststroke, Koenigsberger posted the 15th-fastest time during the preliminaries (2:03.15). He capped off his junior season with a school-record swim of 2:01.87 in the consolation final, good for 12th place and Honorable Mention All-American honors.
