Su Pardo, Softball, Wesleyan University
After another impressive season in 2016, Su Pardo finished her career as one of the most decorated Wesleyan softball players in program history.
In her final season donning the Red & Black, Pardo earned First Team All-NESCAC honors for the second time in her career, having previously received the honor in 2013 when she was named the NESCAC Rookie of the Year.
Pardo concluded the 2016 campaign with a 10-4 win-loss record in 18 appearances, and ranked among the league’s best in the circle. She finished second in the NESCAC in complete games (13) and opponent batting average (.239), third in shutouts (3) and strikeouts (86), fourth in wins (10) and earned run average (2.53), and eighth in innings pitched (102.1).
In the opening game of the 2016 season, Pardo struck out eight batters to become Wesleyan’s all-time strikeout leader, and finished her career with 478 strikeouts. The Malverne, N.Y. native also set several other program records to etch her name in the Cardinals’ record books. She has the most shutouts in a career (11) and season (4, twice), the highest winning percentage in a career (.589) and season (.750), and the most strikeouts in a career and game (19).
Aside from her success on the mound, Pardo also excelled in the classroom and was named NESCAC All-Academic all three years she was eligible.
