Bijan Mazaheri, Men's Cross Country/Track & Field, Williams College

Bijan Mazaheri

Williams College cross country runner and track & field team member Bijan Mazaheri of Wellesley, Massachusetts will go down as one of the most decorated runners in Williams history.

In his senior cross country campaign, Mazaheri finished third individually at the NCAA Championship while his team took second overall for the 2015 season. He graduated as a two-time All-American in cross country and a nine-time Academic All-NESCAC honoree.

Mazaheri’s success in track & field perhaps one-ups his cross country career. He broke two Williams indoor track & field records in 2016: 3,000-meters (8.14.02) and 5,000-meters (14:11.29). Additionally during the 2016 outdoor season, Mazaheri ranked fourth nationally in the 10,000-meters (29:40.46) and 11th in 5k outdoors (14:22.59). This past spring, he finished fourth in the 10,000-meters (30:58.62) at 2016 outdoor championships and came in third in the 5,000-meters (14:35.40).

In Mazaheri’s junior season, he set Williams' outdoor 10,000-meter record (29:39.27) and garnered his third All-American honor in addition to his two indoor All-American seasons in 2015 and 2016.
Mazaheri graduated in June of 2016 with a degree in computer science and physics.
