Hannah Wilson, Women's Cross Country/Track & Field, Bates College

Hannah Wilson

A three-season athlete for four years, Hannah Wilson was a member of the Bates women's cross country and track & field teams. The Brooklyn, New York native led Bates to top-20 finishes at the NCAA Championships in all three seasons: cross country, indoor track and outdoor track.

A neuroscience major, Wilson's outstanding academic resume made her a nine-time NESCAC All-Academic selection. She graduated as one of 38 members of Bates' Class of 2017 to receive the Department of Athletics' Senior Scholar Award, given to four-year athletes who keep a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or better.

The title of Wilson's thesis is "Putting the 'Tree' in Tree Street Youth: Mental Health, Green Space and Increasing Access to Natural Environment." She will work at the Tree Street Youth Center in Lewiston, Maine, as a college prep manager, overseeing the maintenance and growth of a program that has helped more than 50 local students get into two-year and four-year colleges.
