Meet Chad Malinowski - Wesleyan Men's Ice Hockey & Lacrosse

Chad Malinowski was an exceptional two-sport captain at Wesleyan for the ice hockey and lacrosse teams, while also serving as Co-President of the Wesleyan Student-Athlete Advisory Council.
In men’s hockey, he was a three-time All-NESCAC Second Team selection and helped guide the Cardinals to three-straight winning seasons for the first time in program history. In 2018-19, Wesleyan posted its best season ever with a 16-8-2 overall record and 13-3-2 NESCAC mark. In addition to his All-NESCAC honor this winter, Malinowski was also named a New England Writers Association (NEHWA) Division II/III All-Star.
In men’s lacrosse, Malinowski saw a significant rise in playing time as a junior and senior and played a pivotal role in Wesleyan’s 2018 National Championship. He posted his best season this spring, in which he recorded career highs in caused turnovers (16) and ground balls (52) while helping the Cardinals reach the third round of the NCAA Tournament before finishing 13-4.
Malinowski earned two major University awards at the conclusion of the 2018-19 season. He was named the Ahrens Award winner, given to the best senior male athlete at Wesleyan, and also earned the Roger Maynard Memorial Award presented annually to one male and one female senior athlete who exemplifies great spirit and humility.
Academically, Malinowski was elected into the Phi Beta Kappa society, named a USILA Scholar All-American, a NEILA All-Academic Team recipient, and earned NESCAC All-Academic a total of six times.
