HARTFORD, Conn. - Trinity College seniors Sean Killeen (Greenfield, Mass.) and Jeremiah Bayer (Greenfield, Mass.) were both named First Team All-America by the American Baseball Coaches Association, it was announced on Friday, May 22. The duo helped the Bantams to a 33-7 overall record, the 2009 NESCAC Baseball Championship, and a second-straight NCAA New England Regional title along with a spot in the NCAA Baseball Championship.
Killeen, the 2009 NESCAC Player of the Year and a three-time All-NESCAC First Team honoree, owned a team-leading .448 batting average along with a league-leading .565 on-base percentage and .846 slugging mark. He holds program records for at-bats, hits, triples, runs, runs batted in, and walks.
A 2008 First Team member, Bayer also garnered NESCAC Pitcher of the Year honors as he went 12-1 with one save over 14 appearances. Bayer ranked first among conference hurlers with a 0.85 ERA and 94 strikeouts through 95.1 IP, holding opposing batters to a .186 average this season.
